Dr. Kozlowski joined Orthocare from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he served as a senior mechanical engineer for six years in the national security and biomedicine business areas. He serves as the Socket and Body Attachment team lead and wrist development team lead on the DARPA Revolutionizing Prosthetics Program.
Additionally, Dr. Kozlowski serves as the Senior Systems Engineer for the Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robot System (AEODRS) System Integration effort for NAVEODTECHDIV. Dr. Kozlowski earned a BS from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. from Duke University, both in mechanical engineering. His research interests include prosthetic limb design, patient-device interfaces, and high dexterity human integrated robotic systems.

Kim Coleman

Ms. Coleman has over 20 years experience in biomechanics, physiological testing, clinical outcomes research, pharmaceutical research, and product definition, development, manufacturing and support. She received a BA in Exercise Physiology and Organic Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Austin. Her graduate research into foot and ankle function during running, culminated in the award of an MS degree in Biomechanics from the University of California at Davis. She has served as a member of the USA Volleyball Sports Medicine and Performance Commission Resource Advisory Team, and was Supervisor of Physiological Testing for The Hills Medical Sport Complex in Austin, Texas.
Ms. Coleman was a research engineer at Prosthetics Research Study for eight years where she led the development of StepWatch™ and conducted descriptive and outcomes studies in the areas of lower limb prosthetics and diabetes. From 2000 to 2005, she served as director of research at Cyma Corporation, then as president of the company from 2005 - 2007. Ms. Coleman is the vice-chair of the Gait Society of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prothetists. She has served as the Principal Investigator on numerous NIH funded grants, and participates in descriptive, clinical, and pharmaceutical research in diverse fields across the globe.

Michael Markmiller

For the past 13 years, Mr. Markmiller has worked as a systems engineer in the aerospace industry with responsibility for developing product requirements and finding solutions to multi-faceted technical problems. During his tenure with Hughes Electronics, Boeing, and Raytheon, Mr. Markmiller focused on designing, building, and testing satellites for communication and earth-observation missions. He has delivered payloads for NASA, NOAA, the Department of Defense, and the Japanese Meteorological Agency.
Mr. Markmiller earned both his BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he concentrated on product design, control systems, and physiology. In his NASA-funded Master's research, Mr. Markmiller investigated human perception of motion, improving the understanding of how the various senses interact to provide an awareness of position. He conducted his studies as a member of the MIT Man-Vehicle Laboratory, which has an unequaled reputation in sensory research, relevant to both spaceflight and earthbound applications.

Jay Martin

Jay Martin has focused his career on advancing prosthetics and orthotics design. With extensive experience in clinical prosthetics, his inventions have focused on re-shaping the future of prosthetics design. His innovative designs have included adaptive computer controlled prosthetics, control strategies, advanced man/machine interface designs, and nanotechnology applications in prosthetics.
The winner of numerous State and Federal research grants, he is also the holder of several patents, and has focused development efforts on the DARPA Revolutionizing Prosthetics 2009 program in prosthetic socket design.
Mr. Martin has received numerous state and national awards, including the 2008 Journal Record Innovator of the Year Award as well as a finalist in the Frank Annunzio Innovator of the Year award. He has been published in the American Journal of Medicine and Sports, and Medical Design News, and has been a featured radio show and national television guest.
Mr. Martin is a graduate of the University of Southern California, studied prosthetics at Northwestern University, and conducted his clinical prosthetic practice at the Scott Sabolich Prosthetics and Research Center. He is certified by the American Board of Certification for Prosthetics and is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists.
